Community Asset Transfer
Leanchoil Trust submitted the asset transfer request (ATR) for the sale of the Leanchoil site on 16 December 2021 under Part 5 of the Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act 2015.
NHS Grampian approved the ATR and the positive decision notice was received by Leanchoil Trust on 20 June 2022. The Trust submitted the formal offer for the site on 15 December 2022 and the two parties have 6 months to finalise the contract for the sale
Hopefully this process will be completed by mid-2023 and following 2 years of renovation we hope to open the doors to the Leanchoil Centre late 2025.

Officially opened in April of 1892, Leanchoil served the communities of the area for over 125 years.Before hospital was built on the outskirts of Forres, the only available inpatient accommodation was a small building on Burnside.
