Leanchoil Hospital played an important part in many peoples’ lives. Some were staff at the hospital, others were patients or had childhood memories of the place. These recordings were all made by volunteer interviewers over Spring and Summer 2022 as part of the ‘Our Leanchoil’ project. Click on each one to hear their stories.

Officially opened in April of 1892, Leanchoil served the communities of the area for over 125 years.Before hospital was built on the outskirts of Forres, the only available inpatient accommodation was a small building on Burnside.
